Can I just add that I received my copy of the 'Da Vinci Inventions Book' from Amazon a few days ago and one of the attractions (apart from the fact I love Leonardo's inventions!) was the fact that it included five different languages IN the book. I know the other languages could have been online supplemental material, but I rather like having them in front of me to compare - it has helped decide which to learn in addition to NXT-G (I've been looking for one most similar to PHP or Perl, which I already know).

What might be useful is to have the programs in the book and as downloads on the website - trying to type a program from a book can be error-prone. I don't think it would take away potential book sales because what use would those programs be without the rest of the book and models to use them with?

It would be great to see working videos too, because that is the sort of thing you (rather obviously) just can't put into a book.

On another issue, while I think it is important that beginner books (such as 'The Mayan Adventure') try to restrict their parts lists to only retail NXT kits, I do not think that restrictions need apply to more advanced books. I very much suspect that a book entitled 'Advanced NXT' will mostly be read by people (adults) who already have a ton of Lego including 90%-95% of the parts lists, and who will have no qualms about buying more to fill the gaps. Yes, that includes me!

I can't comment on the quality of the instructions yet because I haven't had a chance to try and build a model. Apart from the trade-off between resolution and size of the book, there is also the trade-off between resolution/quality and price of the book!
